Hexagon\u2019s Mining division has deployed a fleet management and safety implementation project with Minera San Crist\u00f3bal S.A. As part of this project, we deployed <\/span>65 HxGN MineOperate OP Pro<\/span><\/a> systems, nearly 40 <\/span>HxGN MineProtect Collision Avoidance Systems (CAS)<\/span><\/a>, and <\/span>30 HxGN MineProtect Operator Alertness Systems (OAS)<\/span><\/a> to the San Crist\u00f3bal open pit mine operations in Lipez, Potos\u00ed Department, Bolivia. The San Crist\u00f3bal mine is one of the largest zinc, lead, and silver deposits in the world, and is currently the largest mining operation in Bolivia\u2019s history. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe pride ourselves on carrying out our operations with the use of state-of-the-art technology like Hexagon\u2019s mining solutions,\u201d Luis Escamilla, Mine Manager of Minera San Crist\u00f3bal S.A, said. \u201cAlongside the qualifications of our workers, we put a strict focus on health and safety, the preservation of the environment, and the sustainable development of communities.\u201d\u202f<\/span><\/p>\n

MineOperate OP Pro offers open pit mines high-precision guidance for dozers, drills, and loading equipment, and low-precision guidance for haul trucks, primary vehicles, and auxiliary equipment. At San Crist\u00f3bal, OP Pro was installed on front-end loaders, hydraulic shovels, drills, haul trucks, primary vehicles, and auxiliary equipment. MineProtect CAS is being deployed on haul trucks to reduce speed-related incidents, and on hydraulic shovels and bulldozers to reduce the number of incidents between them, while MineProtect OAS alerts operators to microsleep, fatigue, or distraction. Both the CAS and OAS systems will help keep drivers and operators safer while working in the mine.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
